Its been a strange two weeks dashing in and out of the studio for only 30-45 minutes at a time around other home life events. Balancing drying of clay is always a challenge- wrapping in plastic to stall it for a while and unwrapping to speed it up. New work is coming out of the kiln at last with only one glaze disaster.
My skills have also been challenged! After a close to 3 year break from clay, I have to reach to the back of my mind at times to access answers to 'how to' questions. Things I used to do with ease have had to be thought about. But its like not riding a bike, once your back in the saddle it all comes back to you.
This week I had to pull a handle and make a mould for a key- both coming out well.
I am a certified creative addict- having played with arty methods constantly since childhood. Now I work mostly in clay, painting and textiles - always designing and making new objects.
