Happy New Year
How exciting to start a new year with hopes and dreams for wonderful times ahead.
I certainly have many, and high on that list is to spend time in my studio doing what I love.
We had a wonderful, although small, Christmas day at home and shared laughs and fun and fabulous food.
It was decided that gifts for all was too much and so we had a Kris Kringle between the adults and only bought for one. Although I also bought myself a gift!
I have long admired Adriana Christiansons work and her passion for all things clay- you can see her work here- so I chose a beautiful corked canister in her signature red colour.
My first box for 2015 left the studio last week -with a set of cups! A great feeling.
Already a week has flown by, and January will disappear in a blink- school holidays mean grandkids visit often and my partner has had surgery on his hand 2 days ago.......... might have to sneak to the studio in the middle of the night.
It is a long story but I tend to spend a lot of time awake during the night and it has definitely had an effect on my new work. Thrown earthenware vessels, with a black stain slip added externally, then lots of scratching and removal of areas to create night time garden stories. More pics next time.
I am a certified creative addict- having played with arty methods constantly since childhood. Now I work mostly in clay, painting and textiles - always designing and making new objects.
