Prior to falling in love with clay I had 25 years working in 2D visual art. Lots of drawings and paintings that all carry a story. My garden has always, and continues to be my inspiration. I once had a garden that was part of the Victorian Open Garden Scheme and my favourite flowers were the roses.
I also used to paint for local community support, donating to not for profits for their fund raising etc. this painting did an amazing job of raising many $'s for the CFA. After 8 weeks of bushfires around Mansfield in the Victorian High Country I created this work. My fav views of the area with some photo images taken at the fire fronts featured at the base. It was selected to travel around 4 local regional galleries and has been in 3 seperate art shows- it is still a personal favourite.
And my gorgeous vegie garden always gives me produce I love to paint, like this pumpkin crop.
Why are these on my 'clay' website? Because painting is part of who I am and therefore influences my 3D work in clay.
I am a certified creative addict- having played with arty methods constantly since childhood. Now I work mostly in clay, painting and textiles - always designing and making new objects.
