For 20 years I was a teacher of visual arts for adults and children - painting, drawing & textiles mostly and I loved every part of my role. Alongside teaching I had my own arts practice where I created pieces for exhibitions and commissions.
But my joy and excitement for that style of art started to wane, until an afternoon of playing with clay! It was love at first touch. Now I design and make a wide range of ceramics with luscious textured surfaces, quiet and subdued colour palettes, rustic and eclectic forms, all unique and made from scratch by me in my backyard studio in Bendigo. My studio is my personal zone- where I contemplate, design ,make and love every moment in there. I hold a deep respect for craftsmanship and all hand crafting methods, and the dedication it requires to master those skills. I love carefully considered designs that create ceramics that are a pleasure to use or to decorate the spaces we use. I have an open and curious mind, with an 'old school' ethos.
